My Story
This will be a sappy story…. Bring tissues.
I joined Scentsy on August 17th, 2017 at 12:01 AM EST. I was thinking I would have the advantage to join at the beginning of the day to hit shooting star and earn my first award. It was PT time I shorted myself a day.
When I first joined, I was going to school full time, my husband was gone for work for a few months and I had a 6-month-old and 18-month-old. I rocked my launch earned Scentsational start level THREE and Shooting Star! ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE WHEN YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO IT! I had a strong WHY, I wanted to make extra money for our family, have a feeling of accomplishment besides being a stay at home mom (there is nothing wrong with being a SAHM), and meet positive/driven people. I set a personal long-term goal to become a Director on August 17, 2019. >> remember that for later in this convo.
I saw our Superstar director working and enjoying all the trips she earned. I NEVER once thought I would be a Director. She just seemed so perfect and driven. SIDE NOTE- She is the realest dang person I have ever met in my life.
Fast forward I promoted three times before taking my first trip on a cruise to Jamaica, Haiti, and Cozumel aboard Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the sea. I EARNED IT! >> little ole me!
The next fall I promoted AGAIN while my husband was gone and taking care of two kids under two all while still going to school full time>> I don’t know how I did it.
I earned another trip to Marco Island Florida’s exclusive resort. It was amazing! #momcation
Fast forward to today….
I sit here staring at a screen in disbelief. I am a SCENTSY DIRECTOR! I cannot type it loud enough. We did it. My customers have been loyal and amazing from the get-go. My team has rocked their socks off and we will officially be the team “Let’s Talk Scents”.
I am grateful for my customers because, without you, NONE of this would be possible! You have believed in me and chose me to be your wax dealer! THANK YOU!
I am grateful for my team because you have all worked so hard and chose ME to be your mentor along your Scentsy journeys. THANK YOU! WE ARE TEAM LET’S TALK SCENTS!! AGHHHH ❤
I am still shocked. I kept telling myself I am no one special. I am not a celebrity; I didn’t have a million dollars to invest in my business, but that is how I treat it. I have made friendships with customers, team members, and even random people because of Scentsy. I am someone special. I am Kayla O. Scentsy Independent Director, mom of two, wife, jeep lover, Disney mom, full-time student, part-time worker, and OWNER of a business. I am someone special. You can be too.
Did I mention I have done this ALL ONLINE!
To anyone telling themself they are not special >> YOU ARE… you must believe in yourself first and foremost.
